Trans athletes in sports has been an on going debate for decades when in reality, it shouldn’t be. Trans kids deserve to play sports in school just as much as any other kid. Trans women deserve to compete just as much as any other woman. Trans men deserve to compete against other men. The list goes on.
As a way to promote inclusion and awareness for this topic, I’ve teamed up with The Building Complex to host an event called Pride Play! We want to give kids of all gender identities and sexualities the opportunity to participate in a soccer game where they can feel completely comfortable to be themselves. You can come to play or you can come to socialize and check out the other stuff we’ll have going on! I’ll be providing a table with free trans resources for anyone who might need them, as well as displaying my art and merchandise for purchase! I’ve also invited other trans and queer owned businesses, Shark Boy Stuff and Love With Pride Apparel to be vendors at the event! We’ll have a food truck, raffles, and more. Come stop by Friday, June 9th at The Building Complex in West Haven, CT anytime from 7-9 PM!
After the event, we’ll be having an after games drinks and social at The Blue Orchid which is only about 10 minutes from the indoor sports complex for anyone 21+! They’re a queer friendly bar in New Haven, CT so come stop by anytime after 9PM!
